He was probably a little sad and confused about being away from home, but since the treatment itself is just a shot, I was very happy knowing that he wasn't in pain or distress from the procedure. My vet did offer surgery as an option, but with the following caveats: The vet thinks that either would work for him, and suggested I mull it over for a day. I've been clawed trying to squirt stuff in a cat's mouth, but the cat I have now doesn't seem to mind it in the least. The vet didn't mention a surgical option at all.
